Sequence Control of a Three Phase AC Motors using Time Relay

 Introduction

Sequence control circuit is a protection circuit. It is used to determine the interruption in the power supply and to detect the overloading of AC Motors. It consists of magnetic contactors, time relays and Fuses.

Working Principle

When a Three-Phase power supply is connected to a circuit then the magnetic contactors energize and connects their terminals and connects the power supply to the AC Motor. If the power supply interrupts, the time relays detect it and cut off the circuit from the ac motor for a specific time.

Uses

This circuit is commonly used in every industry for the protection purposes of AC Motors.
