Interlocking of single phase ac motors by using Contactors

Introduction

In this article you will learn to make an interlocking circuit of single phase ac motors. You will also learn the basics of motor controls circuits used in industries and in many other places. This circuit is designed for single phase ac motors. This is a very simple circuit. In this circuit, you will be able to interlock the single phase ac motors by using two contactors very easily.

Apparatus used

 Fuse (F)
Overload relay (OLR)
1 Normally closed push button (NC)
2 Normally open push button (NO)
2 single phase switches (S1,S2)
2 closed Switches(CS)
2 magnetic contactors (C1,C2)

Explanation

In this circuit, the supply is connected to the circuit. When the supply  will be on of the motor. It starts running. If the first contactor trips then it will open the circuit by which the supply will stop and the motor will not be closed because the second contactor will automatically be operated and as a result the motor will remain in running condition without any problem. This circuit is used in case of any problem of short circuit or in any other situation that the motor or machine connected to the circuit remain constant and cannot be stopped.
