Introduction To Thermal Efficiency

Introduction

In Thermodynamics Thermal efficiency cannot be measured and there is no any device which measure the thermal efficiency and its amount. Thermal efficiency is a type of heat energy which is converted into many other energies. Thermal efficiency is the ratio of heat energy which is produced with some methods or procedures.

Explanation

In simple words, general efficiency is the ratio between the output and input in the terms of heat energy. As you know that in electrical systems every machine or mechanism of everything has a loss with respect to its properties. Some has low and some machines have high amount of loss. So, this efficiency is used to calculate the loss and the performance of the boilers with respect to its efficiency and to know about the losses of the heat energy. We also use this efficiency to know that what the amount of input, the boiler is taking and what the boiler is giving to output.

Formula

The following is the formula of thermal efficiency:
Here Q is the heat equivalent.

Uses

Thermal efficiency is used to measure the parameters of heat equivalent and the steam turbines to know different parameters related to heat energy.
