Parallel Circuit OF Various Components

Definition

A parallel circuit consists of more than or equal to two paths for electricity to flow from it and the components are connected in parallel to each other.

Explanation

In this circuit, there are many ways by which the electric current flow easily. The characteristics of the parallel circuit are different than the series circuit. The amount of total resistance of the resistors are different.

Principles of Parallel Circuit/Connection

  • The amount of resistances is different of each component
  • The voltage remains the same in whole circuit
  • The amount of current varies in the whole circuit.

Formula

The following are the formulas to find the current, voltage and resistance in parallel circuit

1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

It = I1 + I2 + I3

Vt = V1 = V2 = V3

Uses

This circuit is used to measure the values of resistances in ohm, current in amperes and also the value of voltages across each component in series circuit.
